Spread the love

When a man’s ways please the Lord,
He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. Proverbs 16:7

In this passage God promises us when we please Him even our enemies are at peace with us. What a great promise! So what pleases God?

First we need to know that faith pleases God. Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

Faith is first required for us to receive God’s grace according to Ephesians but after we accept Christ we need to grow and live our faith daily. Living a life of faith comes from building our faith by reading and studying God’s Word. Spending time with Him in prayer and worship also builds our faith too. Listening to Him is so important because it takes faith to hear and obey whatever He speaks into your life.

Enemies are those that oppose you and whatever you do. A lot of times people will say the devil is the only one against you but just like God uses people to accomplish His mission the devil uses people too.

When I got saved I had some people I would call enemies and did not like nor did they like me. As I spent time with God and grew in my faith I would run into these people and to my surprise they had no ill towards me nor did I towards them. God gives us his grace to mend relationships even with the unbeliever.

Faith is just the beginning of pleasing God. Allowing the fruit of the spirit to mature in our lives is a beginning see Galatians. Learning how to respond to people and not react to them which usually leads to strife is another way to please God. One thing I am learning is that when Christians try to lure me into strife when they on purpose try to insult or attack me I become a duck and let it roll off me. God told me recently He vindicates me by fighting that battle.

Lord help us to please you in all our ways. Show us how to live a life pleasing to you. Cause our enemies to be at peace with us so we can share the gospel with them. In Jesus Name Amen

This is a very hard part of my faith. I have someone in my life that I stay away from because of my feelings, therefore I deprive myself of doing some of the things I like to do. God is working on this right now and I’m trying to let him help me. Pray for me.

It is a hard part of our faith for sure. I was told long ago that forgiveness isn’t reconciliation in other words i can forgive a person but that doesn’t mean i have to allow them into my life again. I will be praying for you in this area. God Bless
