Some things have been around forever they have been tried through tough times but still have endured. God’s word is that way it has been tried and purified according to our passage today. The Bible has been around for decades and still is relevant today as it was yesterday.
“It is fashionable in some academic circles to exercise scholarly criticism of the Bible. In so doing, scholars place themselves above the Bible and seek to correct it. If indeed the Bible is the Word of God, nothing could be more arrogant. It is God who corrects us; we don’t correct Him. We do not stand over God but under Him.”― R.C. Sproul
God’s word not only the Bible but his spoken word to each of us has proven to be instructional, challenging, correcting but always loving. When we obey his word over time it becomes second nature we don’t question it but trust it.
The passage goes on to say, “He is a shield to those who trust and take refuge in Him.” God shields us from the world when we trust him.
The trust is not natural, but it requires us to go against our wills and do it any way. Taking refuge in him means we fully trust and obey all that he says regardless of the natural scenery.
“Dedication is writing your name on the bottom of a blank sheet of paper and handling it to the Lord for Him to fill in” ― Rick Renner
When the world is going crazy we as children of God can put our trust in him and take refuge knowing that he is our shield. Sicknesses, financial disaster, natural disasters, etc. can not harm us if we go to that place of trust and refuge.
Are you trusting God today?
Is he speaking to you?
Trust him as your refuge and shield!
